Spanish River High School has opened its doors for over 25 years and during that time we have over six thousand Shark wins, nearly thirty State Championships, countless District and Conference Championships.  We have won the All Sports Program for Palm Beach County 18 times never finishing out of the top three in all the years the award has been given.   It would be easy to say our program is all about winning, but having the privilege of being Athletic Director for the past 5 years, I can tell you that the mission runs much deeper than our records.

The coaching staff, administration, student-athletes, and parents have taught me about the passion our community has for its children and their success, and our mission statement and goals reflect that commitment of this outstanding program.

• Promote at all times we are involved in Education-based Athletics and all decisions should reflect a commitment to that notion
• Create an atmosphere so that each student/athlete feels they have an opportunity to work hard, be supported, and be safe as they pursue the goals of the team and the goals they have set for themselves
• Develop a coaching staff made of good teachers, both in and out of the classroom.  Ideally we strive for 100% of our head coaches to teach on campus, but when not possible we hire people who understands their role as an educator and a coach
• Establish a strong communication between the staff, administration, and parents that enables our student/athletes to grow and develop during their athletic experience
• Emphasis on the life lessons being taught by hard work, dedication, and being part of a team.  Lessons that the student/athlete will cherish and apply to achieve great things as an adult

Spanish River Athletics has produced many outstanding sport teams with great records and accolades,  but none of this is possible without tremendous coaches, athletes, administration, and parents all working toward the same goal, making sure our student/athletes are “SIMPLY THE BEST”!
