The cheerleaders are the official hostesses of Spanish River High School.  We promote and uphold school spirit.  The cheerleaders encourage a sense of good sportsmanship amongst students, unify crowd participation, and strive to build better relationships between schools. 

Spanish River cheerleaders are selected on many criteria; attitude, citizenship, spirit, personality, poise, and coachability.  Additionally, cheerleaders are selected on their cheering ability.  This includes jumps, coordination, sharpness, voice projection, and stunting.  Cheerleading at Spanish River is a year round sport with football in the fall and basketball in the spring.  There are also other events that the cheerleaders participate in such as freshman orientation and open house.  Tryouts for both squads are held in the spring.
