The Boys and Girls Golf Programs at River have been growing and building over the last 5 years.  Both teams are very competitive in the district having placed in the top 3 at districts each year and advancing to the Regional tournaments. 

Some notable individuals to come out of this program have been Matt Cahill and Madison Pressel.  Matt Cahill went on to play in the US Amateur Championship in 2009.  Madison Pressel placed 3rd and then 4th at the state tournaments before she became the State Champion in 2008.  She also went on to receive a full scholarship to the University of Texas for women’s golf.

Currently the golf teams are led by Sophomores Harley Abrams and Chritina Ocampo.  Christina placed first at the District tournament, Second at the Regional Tournament and Fourth at the State Tournament.

The Boys Golf Team competed as a team in the State Tournament in 2008 where they placed 6th overall.

The teams are comprised of 6-8 players.  We are always looking for new recruits of any grade level and girls of any skill level.  If you have a set of clubs, know the general rules of the game and are interested in playing, we encourage you to come out and tryout!  Tryouts are always held the first week of school in August and the season runs August to October.
