Lacrosse is America’s oldest game, as Native American Indian tribes invented the sport hundreds of years before the Europeans arrived.  Regarded as the “Fastest Game on Two Feet”, lacrosse combines speed, strength, agility endurance and mental capacity.

Spanish River Lacrosse program is one of the fastest growing sports on campus.  Less than 4 years ago, the boys program had 14 players and today the roster tops 75.  The River lacrosse program has grown into a varsity and junior varsity sport.

The 2010 season is going to be exciting for our team.  We only graduated 2 seniors last year and have added several new accomplished players to both the varsity and JV teams.  Our 2009 Varsity team finished the year ranked 14 in the state.  This is a huge vertical move compared to a state ranking of 50 in 2008.  We begin our first game in 2010 against Benjamin, ranked #2 in the state on their home field team.  We will also be playing Dwyer, the #1 ranked team in the state.

Under the guidance of Head Coach Brian Johnson and Assistant Coaches Shawn Riegner, Steve Jara and Chris DiVico, we continue to work hard and look forward to a trip to State Finals in the Spring!
